A new report by KGI Ming-Chi Kuo indicates that the next iPhone 8 will be roughly the same physical size as the 4.7-inch iPhone 7, yet packs a much larger battery, comparable to the 2700 mAh battery on the iPhone 7 Plus.
With reports indicating that the OLED iPhone screen is approximately 5.5 inches, it seems that there is no gossip about the 'bezels' is true, since the only way the device would be able, similar in physical width and would equate to A 4.7 inch iPhone.
As well as pushing a much larger screen in the same physical space, a significant improvement in battery capacity is also noteworthy. The current 4.7-inch iPhone 7 has a 1960 mAh battery, while the Plus has a power output of 2900 mAh.
This is an increase of about 50% for the OLED iPhone when KGI predictions are correct. While some of these additional battery capacity is needed to power the larger display, it seems reasonable to expect the iPhone 8 battery life is higher in use.
Earlier rumors about the industrial design of the OLED iPhone indicate that the larger screen, the front of the phone is dominated, with almost no space being wasted in the surrounding diaphragms or boundaries. Some sources have indicated that the OLED panel also wrap around the sides of the unit.
KGI says the dramatic increase in battery capacity by Apple is likely to assume a PCB board "similar substrate" stacked. By the map becomes smaller, more space inside the device for the battery chemistry is available. This is reflected in the larger blue area in the diagram, which is provided by CGI research.
The rumors of the iPhone 7s and 7s iPhone Plus is the new motherboard technology, but they are not going to be stacked, which means that the battery capacity in these models are more or less equivalent to their iPhone 7 and 7 and counterparts.
Mirrors What we have heard before, the new stacked plate components are significantly more expensive than what has been used on an iPhone, with up to 80% higher production costs. This in turn joins the idea that the premium iPhone 8 has a higher price tag.
It is expected that the three new iPhones, the two iterative models and radically new OLED iPhone '8' to be announced in the fall Apple.
